HOA Rules, Rolling Ground And Afternoon Wind

Most of Murrieta was built as master planned neighborhoods, which means most fencing decisions start with the CC&Rs rather than with the material. Height, color and what can face the street are usually specified, and the association is the only authority on your address. Get the approved specification first and the rest of the job is simple.

The ground is the second factor. Murrieta sits on rolling hills, so fence lines frequently cross a grade, and a run that ignores the slope looks wrong from the first day. We decide with you on site between stepping the panels down and racking them to follow the ground.

Then there is the weather. Summers here are hot and dry and the afternoon breeze that comes up the valley from the coast is stronger than people expect. Vinyl needs a proper UV package to hold color in that sun, wood needs a finish schedule, and both need posts set for wind rather than to a default depth.

  • Built to HOA approved height and color
  • Stepped or racked runs on rolling lots
  • Vinyl specified with a real UV package
  • Returns where new fencing meets block wall

Riverside County

About Murrieta

Murrieta is a city in Riverside County named after the rancher who founded the town. Bordered by Temecula, Murrieta is primarily residential and continues to grow in population. Labeled “The Future of Southern California,” it has become a commuter town. Murrieta was incorporated in 1991 as a city and is in between San Diego and Los Angeles. Murrieta’s history includes a railroad depot opening in 1887, which created a bustling tourist industry. Trains eventually stopped, and the economy suffered a setback in 1935. After building Interstate 15, the city boomed again in the 1980s. Murrieta has recognition for being a safe suburban community.

The hot springs are what first brought people here. Murrieta Hot Springs drew visitors from the late 1800s onward, and the resort era is a large part of why a small ranching valley turned into a town at all.

Today it is mostly families and commuters, with I-15 and I-215 meeting at the north end of the city. Neighborhoods are newer and laid out in planned communities, and the schools and parks were built alongside the housing rather than added later.

What people underrate is how quickly the country starts again. The Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve is minutes west of town, with oak woodland, vernal pools and trails across land that looks the way this valley did before any of it was built. Temecula's wine country sits just south, which is why weekends here feel less suburban than the street grid suggests.

Questions

Fencing In Murrieta

My HOA has a fence specification. Can you build to it?

Yes, and it is the norm here. Send us what the association approved and we will quote and build to exactly that, including color and height.

Does vinyl fade in this sun?

Cheap vinyl does. A line with a genuine UV package holds its color for years, which is why we are particular about what we install rather than buying whatever is cheapest that week.

Can you fence a sloping back yard?

Yes. We either step the panels down the grade or rack them to follow it, and we will show you what each looks like before starting.
